AYURVEDIC MASSAGE

Ayurvedic massage is part of the traditional Indian medicine that is thousands of years old. Ayur means “life” and Veda “knowledge”, so Ayurveda literally means knowledge of life.

The Ayurveda is based on the five elements:

Kapha
Consists of Water and Earth, and it is the most stable and constructive of the five elements. If you are a Kapha type, you are powerful, strong, calm, even and tolerant. You have a predisposition to become overweight and store fluids. In case of stress or tension, you tend to withdraw.

Pitta
Consists of Fire and Water, thus forming a fiery bio-force. If you are a Pitta type, you are energetic, dynamic, efficient, and you like beautiful things. You have a lot of fire in you, and you are predisposed to high blood pressure, overactivity and fits of anger.

Vata
Consists of Ether and Air, and it is the most tenuous and flexible of the five elements. If you are a Vata type, you are enthusiastic and slim, and you have a rich fantasy and a clear mind. You are predisposed to irritation, nervousness, restlessness, stress and irregular sleeping and eating patterns.
